Islanders @ Flyers: Game 9
SUMMARY: Flyers are still struggling to play a full 60 minute game, but as has been the story this season, they found a way to win the game, albeit in OT, but a win is a win, and the Flyers will take it. PERIOD ONE: This was the best period for the Flyers tonight. They outplayed and outscored the Islanders in this period, but it would be their only great period. Flyers started hot, with Jakub Voracek and Claude Giroux working a perfect give-and-go to secure the Flyers first goal of the game to make it 1-0 just 3:38 into the game. Kevin Hayes would make it 2-0 a little more than ten minutes later as James van Riemsdyk made a beautiful cross ice pass that Hayes was able to fire past Varlamov at 13:55. The period ended with shots tied 6-6. PERIOD TWO: The second period was a bit of a nightmare for the Flyers as they once again coughed up their 2 goal lead.
